My star sighting

Last year my little child had a friend in her Kindergarten class. This friend's mom and I volunteered to help in the classroom a few times together. I was talking to this mom one day and she happened to talk about her daughter's dad, they are divorced, that he is a member of the band Train. I was like "whoa, that's awesome! I totally love them! I discovered them in HS!" (I actually heard the cd when I was at my GREAT friend Ace's house, that is how I discovered them). From that time on every time I saw him I was "star struck" and I never even dared say hi to him! Even though our daughters were really good friends! Well it has been over a year since I have been walking past him not daring to say anything.

Yesterday the school had a luncheon for the parents that have helped the teachers throughout the school year. He was there. I was sitting a few tables away and my child's teacher came and sat next to me. She is actually my really good friend and just a year younger than me. I told her to look at him and tell me if she knew who he was. She TOTALLY knew who he was even though she had never seen him at the school or knew he had a daughter there! I told her that I had never dared talk to him before and that if she went with me I thought I could get the courage. She had to help me because she has THE BEST name! So we walk over there and I say to him "Have you met Virginia? She actually owns lots of dresses!" (I am a total dweeb, I know!) Then she leaves because she had to go get her class from their lunch. Then guess what happened?! I talked to HIM! I totally did! His ex- wife, that I know, was sitting next to him and we all totally had a conversation! I told her that I have never dared talk to him and she laughed at me! I found out that Train will be releasing a new album in the end of Jan. They are writing right now and he is trying to get back in shape for touring!

That concludes my star sighting story. I know I am a freak and that the story probably wasn't that cool, but I was SO happy that I finally dared to talk to him. All thanks to my friend Virginia!

You are a dweeb!!! That is hilarious because I remember you telling me about him and yes, it is about time, girl. I still pull out that old CD every once in a while. They have a song called IDAHO, so that is fun. Maybe next, you can take a pic with him and share it with us. Have fun!
