Cleaning is Fun to do.
What? Did I just write that sentence? Maybe I need to clarify a bit. I meant that cleaning someone else's house is fun to do. Oh and cleaning with your one of your best friends is also fun to do! My friend is doing some major spring cleaning of her house. She is a very busy woman and mentioned that she needed hire someone to help her. I decided that I would like a little extra cash in my purse so I said I would help her. Yesterday I started and worked from 9-5! Today I worked 9-2. I'm going back tomorrow to work some more. My old lady body wasn't too happy with me yesterday, but today she was a little kinder to me. It was fun to be cleaning and not be by yourself and be able to talk to someone doing the same thing as you every once in awhile. At some points we each had a vacuum running. At other times we had both (4 year old) kids whining to us. For the most part it was actually a fun time that was had!
She just called me a little bit ago to tell me that she noticed that her banister was sparkling! That made me happy to know that she really noticed my work! When I clean my house I like it when my husband notices what I have done. It's nice to be noticed when you have worked hard!
While I was cleaning I was thinking about when I was growing up. My mom made me and my sister do Saturday jobs. I HATED them! I would have to clean the blinds, wipe the banister, vacuum the house, empty the garbages, clean bathrooms, etc. and clean my own room. If we had plans for Saturday, we had to get our jobs done Friday. I thought that this was totally unfair! Well today I was thinking about that and I am realizing the importance of what we did. Not only did my mom not have to do all the cleaning all by herself (genious!) she also taught us responsibility. She made it so we could appreciate a clean house and what goes into that. I can't wait until my kids are old enough to be able to scrub a toilet and wipe down the blinds. It will mean that I will have live in cleaning buddies and that I will be teaching my children valuable skills! Hurray for cleaning!

DOn't all kids hate cleaning? It took an entire day of denying Cate any fun things...not TV, no puzzles, no playing with friends...none of that, until she cleaned her room.
What a nightmare.
Did you make good money??? HOpe so!
Hi Destiny. Since I was able to access your blog, I guess you've make it open... Or something. Anyway, I hope so.
You probably recognize my name by now... Another 'Twilighter,' who just may be the _oldest_ 'Twiligher' around! ,-)
I remember Sat. cleaning too. Even way back "at the beginning of time." :-) I like the plan of having kids do certain work around the house. Because they are part of a team.
I like the idea of learning team work. The family is a team. Certain things need to be done regularly, so the whole family/team feels comfortable, in their home. And each team/family member does something. I like that! Seems like good training for life.
Plus, no Mom or Dad should have to feel like a _servant_ to others, in the family! Yeahhhhh... :-))))
As you can guess, I was never 'big' on having a martyr complex, like some Moms seem to be. ,-)

And may I please add your blog link, to those other 'Twilighter's' blogs, I have in my Sidebar?

Man, I remember those days too. I always like cleaning other people's stuff rather than my own. And, I guess it helps to be paid!!!
Oh man I totally know what you mean. I HATED doing chores, but now I HATE having a messy house, so I'm glad my mom taught me how to clean. I even make my bed now which I never did when I was younger.
You're so nice to help her out!
ya i remember that cleaning, it was not fun. i don't clean blinds i hate it! i don't care if it is someone elses blinds....its all the same...so i will stick to the bigger bigger blinds! easier to clean!! !haha...
