My March Madness…

It's that time of year again. This is the time of year I am constantly mad at my husband. Why, you ask? It's because of something that can be summed up into one word:

Basketball

For those of you lucky enough to not know what I mean. I will be a little more specific. NCAA College basketball tournament time is here, and that my friends, means HOURS of basketball on TV a day for about 3 weeks. It all starts when you have the teams announced, that was on Sunday. After that you have to carefully fill out your bracket to see if you can beat your friends and coworkers at picking the winners. Today the first round games started. I am so lucky to have a husband who left me to go and actually be at some of these games!

Now don't get me wrong, I want my husband to be able to go do "man" things. Doing "man" things is good for him. But this is the time of year that the "man" things overtake him into another realm. Granted it's only once a year. But frankly after dealing with it for 9 years it just gets worse to me! I keep on thinking I will get used to it, but I don't! There is never a time where I can for a 3 week period just "check out" from reality. There is no possible way! I was sick last week and he was actually out of town for most of last week and I had to stay on top of things, I didn't do it very well but I did alright. I even had a good reason to check out, but I couldn't! Even when he got home and could take care of things, I was there in the background reminding about things i.e. "feed the girls", "shower night", "change the laundry" etc. I couldn't/didn't check out.

Here we are the beginning of the Madness. The time of year the hubs checks out for basketball. He is mad for the games, I am mad at him for being mad for the games. It's a vicious cycle. Who will be the victor at the end? Only the bracket can tell. Whose cuisine will reign supreme? Probably not mine, for I am not slaving at the stove while he is non-existent in this house. (I actually just felt like writing that phrase from Iron Chef, I'm weird, I know.)

Bachelor Jason…

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?

WHAT are you THINKING? You can just CHANGE your mind? Why on EARTH would you dump your FIANCE on national television? BTW-If I hear you say "those eyes" (Molly's) one more time I swear I will break something!

Molly

Why on EARTH would you take him back? If he can do that to Melissa, he sure as HECK can do that to YOU! How can you just decide after 5 minutes of his jabbering, that he is worthy of you. THEN you actually MADE-OUT with him!

Melissa

I feel so bad for you. No one should have to go through that. I can see that you were invested in the relationship, but you unfortunately got a "bad egg". You, sista, got the short end of the stick. I really hope you find someone that SCHOOLS that retard Jason!

(Oh and I totally am breaking up with you now!)

Love to listen to.....

(2 posts in one day? Don't get too used to it!)

While I wrote my last post I was listening to this (still am):

It is SO GOOD! I highly suggest buying it. I did on iTunes.
Oh and love the Lost promo they did! I have that video on my iPod right now. LOVE it!

Valentines Day?

The title of this blog says that this is a blog of thoughts.

Therefore you are forewarned before you even read the posts I do.

I do not believe in Valentines Day.

It was created by Hallmark, or the equivalent of it, way back when this day started to exist.

On Saturday I did not expect anything out of the ordinary from my DH.

He DEFINITELY didn't expect anything from me!

Having said that, there is a VERY good reason for this.

Our anniversary is 12 days after V-Day.

I would MUCH rather he pamper me with LOTS of LOVE on THAT day.

That is ONE day that REALLY does mean something to me.

The day I married the man of my dreams.

My best friend, my confidant, my supporter, my lover.

In 10 days will be 9 years of us being bound together forever.

Is 9 years a long time?

Doesn't seem like it to me.

Wow, I am in LOVE!

Pedi...

I got a pedicure last night.

Ahhh.....

Wow. It was NICE!!

I was told I needed to do that because I have been feeling a little down. :(

My friend made us appointments. It was the prescription for my ailment.

This was just the narcotic drug I needed.

So addictive.

Yet so lovely and pure.

This is the color I got : Midnight in Moscow. (it looks almost black painted)

I LOVE IT!!!

Dating...

Since my DH has been working almost non-stop for a couple weeks, I have started dating.

Last night I had a date with THE BACHELOR. Amy came with.

Today I had a lunch date with a TASTY BURGER. Katie came with me on this date.

Tonight I had a date with the GILMORE GIRLS. We have actually been dating for a long time now, and they really do get me.

Tomorrow I am thinking of an all day date with some of this:

(I had other dates, these were the most blog worthy ones to share.)

ARE YOU JEALOUS! I am really in the dating scene NOW!

I've got this friend...

Do you ever have a time when there is something that reminds you of someone? Well today I have been thinking about one of my friends. I will tell you what made me think of her later in this entry.

This friend of mine lives far away from me, and I haven't seen or talked to her in YEARS! Now, you may think what kind of friend she is when we haven't even talked in years. Let me give you a brief summary of my meeting Emily F.

Our husbands went to school together. They both did their Master's degrees in Economics (I know BOR-ing!). My hubs decided to go to Law School, her hubs decided to get his PHD. Well long story short they both ended up choosing the SAME school to accomplish their major schooling needs. AND after hubs and I found a apartment to live at, Emily and her hubs went a few weeks later and landed an apartment just TWO doors from us! Emily and I had never met, so we met when she moved to the new abode. I tell you when we met we were instant friends, I swear we are kindred spirits or something. WELL Em's hubs didn't have a very good time in the PHD program that he was in. He decided to see if he could transfer to a different school. Turns out he got accepted to another great school, so just after a few months THEY MOVED AWAY! I was so sad! But ever since then, that was SIX years ago, we have managed to keep in touch through email mostly. We've seen each other once or twice, and talked on the phone. Here are some things about Emily:

~She has the most GORGEOUS long blond hair ever! Her daughter is totally blessed with this hair also, I mean it totally grows like a weed!

~She loves to work out. This woman would work out while watching shows. Oh and I think I recall a time when she was doing crunches on her ball while talking to me on the phone. She has always been in such great shape too, even after having 3 kids! (I hate her for that!)

~Emily is a wonderful musician. Also a great mom and wife.

~She is a work-a-holic, but somehow juggles everything else she has to do with ease. (How do you do that?)

~Emily loves TV, like me, and we had THE BEST Alias and Bachelor get-togethers EVER!

Which brings me to the reason I think of Emily today. A brand new season of The Bachelor starts tonight and I know I can count on Emily to watch it! Em, I'm totally going to have to talk to you about this one, I mean come on, he has a kid!

So anyway, sorry to bore you all on Emily. Maybe you need to dedicate your next blog post to a long lost friend?

(I miss you Em!)
